The Business Analyst facilitates the adoption of new or improved processes and/or procedures by customers to help maximize the benefit of the technology solutions and assist them in achieving their business goals. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to convey to the implementation and development teams. The Business Analyst will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the implementation process, and to ensure that project deliverables align to specifications. The Business Analyst may also be directly involved in financial assessments and development of cost benefit analysis.
Primary areas of responsibility include the following: • Identifies requirements and priorities through a variety of methods. • Works closely with the customer, examines and documents existing business models and processes and the flows of data in the business, and suggests areas for optimization. • Works closely with the customer and internal account managers to perform detailed financial analysis to develop programs and identify cost benefits. • Distills high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements. • Defines quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements. • Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solutions. • Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for customer engagements. • Presents designs to the customer and project team and once approved, works closely with the customer team to implement the solution. • Assists with the development of the organization’s requirements, engineering policies, procedures, and tools (the practice). • Proactively seeks opportunities to serve in leadership roles. • Facilitates effective team interaction and is a strong team member. • Develops strong relationships with customers and continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen those customer relationships. • Communicate effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. • Manages customer expectations effectively. • Other responsibilities as may be assigned.

| Experience | : | • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a business analyst. • Experience in a regulated industry. • Experience with Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC). • Ability to quickly understand business issues and data challenges in a customer's organization and industry. • Demonstrated excellent active listening skills. Demonstrated effective written communication skills, including ability to write requirement specifications according to standard templates, using natural language - simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely. • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with customers and staff. • Excellent problem solving skills and analytical skills. • Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills to lead requirements elicitation workshops, business process analysis projects workshops and the ability to negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts. • Demonstrated interviewing skills, to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information. • Strong observational skills, to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation. • Excellent organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information. • Experience with standard corporate accounting practices or financial analysis is a plus. • Six Sigma, CMMI and/or Lean Manufacturing certification is an asset. • Project management experience. • Must be willing to travel extensively (50% plus) |
