Description:The Database Engineering Team has a position for a Senior Engineer. This is an opportunity for the right individual to obtain a position with board visibility within the Firm and significant responsibilities for bringing positive change to the systems and application environment. Individuals will be working in a team-oriented environment that requires a good deal of interaction with other engineers, developers and managers. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. The positive personal attributes of initiative, resourcefulness, and integrity combined with intelligence and an even-tempered approach to work will be necessary for success.
Experience:Strong Database, UNIX and Development skills Broad and deep technical knowledge of database technology - including extensive hands-on experience with at least two of the following RDBMS: DB2, UDB, Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server. Siginificant DBA experience is required Experience in database application development is required. Good knowledge of SQL, Database design (ERD) and experience with both DBA and application development tools is required. Very STRONG UNIX skills -(Guru level) and UNIX/LINUX software development experience is required. Strong Perl skills highly desirable Solid understanding of J2EE and .Net architectures with a focus on the database related aspects and APIs (JDO, ADO, JDBC, ODBC) is required Excellent verbal and written communication is essential
