GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general direction, designs and implements automated mechanisms (such as automated scripts running on Windows and UNIX) for gathering and reporting project metrics. Supports the SQA/Metrics team in defining appropriate project metrics that are meaningful and add value to NAVTEQ's project management.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Follows defined software development process to define the requirements, implement and release automated tools to gather and report project metrics.
• Interacts with SQA/Metrics, Process and project teams to establish the requirements for project metrics.
• Interacts with Project Managers, Configuration Managers, Release Managers and others to design automated techniques to gather project metrics.
• Applies innovative techniques to automate the gathering of metrcis from sources such as ClearQuest, ClearCase, Subversion, JIRA, Clarity and other software tools.
• Under the guidance of the SQA/Metrics team, creates automated scripts to publish project metrics using Web technologies, Powerpoint, and other presentation mechanisms.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate degree (science/technology), 4 yrs. relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• 4 yrs. software development, scripting, and Web development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of web technology, scripting, and statistics.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
• Developed problem-solving skills related to tools used.
• Developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Demonstrated experience with Windows and UNIX scripting and automated jobs.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• Fluent in the spoken and written English language.
• Demonstrated familiarity with JAVA, C++, Perl, and other scripting languages.
• Demonstrated familiarity with Web technologies, HTML, WIKI, etc.
