The DBA will work closely with the application architects, lead developers and with the Systems/Network team as well as the applications team to effectively coordinate the complex interdependencies inherent in the role of DBA. The DBA will play a key role insuring optimum application performance and availability.
Qualifications Required
Expert at analyzing complex functions, procedures, and problems to find creative, logical, and effective solutions.
Ability to create elaborate reports using SQL and popular reporting tools(SSRS, Crystal Reports).
Excellent knowledge of database design fundamentals and the use of data modeling tools (ERD type tools).
Skilled in all phases of database design and implementation, including experience with large, high performance systems and complex stored procedures and triggers.
Minimum of 7 years professional Information Technology experience. At least two or more of these years will be working with a large, multi-database, high transaction environment within a high demand-based, service-oriented environment.
Minimum of 4 years experience as a SQL Server database administrator or senior application developer with proficiency in the management and optimization/tuning of relational databases.
Ability and willingness to expand scope of knowledge to other operating systems and database platforms a must.
A team player who can effectively work with their own network/systems team and other IT teams as well as participate on project teams as needed.
Good organizational abilities, oral communications, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to set and monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, access, clustering and security.
Experience developing and implementing strategies for managing security roles, privileges, and authentication.
Experience with MS SQL Server database cluster installation, configuration, administration, design, and maintenance.
Experience with Backups and Recovery, Log Shipping and Replication.
Advanced database performance tuning skills.
Preferred
Knowledge of XML, MySQL, Oracle, and DB2 is desirable.
Relevant Microsoft Certifications Highly Desired.
