We are looking for two Senior Oracle Database Administrators to join the existing DBA team for our flagship product World of Warcraft (WoW). These mission critical production database systems support 5.5 million customers worldwide on a 24x7x365 basis. The database size and transaction load is also growing significantly on a weekly basis which will add further challenge to your role.
While performing all duties associated with database administration including maintenance, tuning and data migration, you will also be interacting directly with our development teams around the world to assist in the development and enhancements of World of Warcraft.

| Experience | : | To be successful in this position, you must have:
5+ years enterprise experience in a true production environment as an Oracle database administrator utilizing Oracle 9i and 10g running on primarily on Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1 with the potential to move to HP-UX
Worked in a 24x7x365 high-transaction and customer/consumer facing Oracle database environment where you have handled performance tuning
Worked with multiple large databases greater than 1 Terabyte in size
An interest in games, ideally World of Warcraft! -- As crazy as it sounds, you will need to understand how this incredibly successful game interacts with Oracle technology. To do that, you must know the game and the language within that game to be able to troubleshoot challenges as they arise.
Some other skill sets that will help you:
You have been a developer in your past and therefore worked extensively will SQL and PL/SQL
As our database systems are hosted on Unix, you have worked with various Unix tools and Unix shell scripting |
