Principal Web Engineer
Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Principal Web Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining and owning co.'s technical web architecture. The PWE will identify and plan the use of specific web technologies and tools to be used for web development, and will identify and implement industry best practices around their use. They will be responsible for creating and directing the use of the frameworks and methodologies used for web development. The PWE will provide leadership and direction to co.'s web development staff, and will also have a hands-on role in designing and implementing of co.'s architecture.
8+ years proven ability and experience in architecting, designing, and developing enterprise-class web-based solutions. Familiarity with Student Loan Industry, Financial Education Industry, and/or Educational Web Software a plus. Has developed Enterprise class solutions in a Windows environment. Experience in building scalable 24x7 operation. Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; Master?s degree preferred.
