nberman@thesportsauthority.com | | Description | : | POSITION PURPOSE Provide first level technical support for store and corporate associates regarding hardware, software and operational problems. Provide help desk support for reported problems, document issues/resolutions, and coordinate response from second level support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Address issues reported to Support Services via phone, email, fax, and web. Completely document issues/requests in the service request management application. Resolve level 1 support issues on first contact for various IS related technologies. Escalate level 2 support issues to appropriate IS groups. Coordinate second level response and follow up on calls for quality assurance. Monitor system(s) status to resolve outages. Communicate issues and statuses to appropriate individuals within IS as well as business groups.

| Experience | : | PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent relevant experience. Must have 1 or more years experience in a help desk or call center environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Focus on customer service and teamwork required. Knowledge of various hardware platforms including IBM AS/400, Wintel and Unix based server platforms, PCs, Routers, RF, and POS preferred. Knowledge of various software platforms including Windows 98/2000/XP, MS Office, Exchange, JDA MMS, Siebel preferred. Ability to solve problems in situations where most problems have occurred before and their solutions are familiar. Ability to discuss detailed information with internal and external customers. Ability to write standard documentation using established formats. Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet business demands.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING: Wintel Unix PC’s Windows 98/2000/XP MS Office Exchange or Outlook
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: AS/400 JDA MMS Ticket tracking system Routers Point of Sale (POS)
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY Responsible for controlling some expenses within a department.
