Description:Instructional Designer for a LIMS Project

Work Hours: 8am – 5pm core. Some early morning or evening teleconference calls may be necessary to communicate with international team members.

LOCATION OF POSITION
Summit, NJ

TRAVEL
Some international travel may be needed during the rollout phase of the training program. Some travel between NJ offices for meetings, when required.

DAILY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY:

The Instructional Designer will provide full time support to the LIMS Training Team.

Learn LIMS System and ERP Interface
Write, edit scripts for eLearning Module as needed.
Update/Create training documentation for existing and new training courses including procedures, participant guides, exercises, assessments and quick cards.
Edit & update LIMS procedures, ensuring information is clear and correct.

Work with Subject Matter Experts to gain understanding of procedures and suggest changes.
Write/Update Learning Objectives for each Training Module using Instructional Systems Design methodology.

Develop training materials based on templates using Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology.
Materials will be developed for classroom and self-paced learning. Training materials include course content (including skills assessments), pre- and post-tests, and student and facilitator directions for blended learning solutions.

Create/Update PowerPoint presentations and Instructor Guides

Assist with population of training database with data.
Ideal candidate must be a self-starter who can complete assignments independently and time.
Candidate may be required to attend training on LIMS application as well as other required courses related to instructional design.


Overview of Project
s LIMS is a Laboratory Information Management System. The main function of this software is to track samples that are scheduled for testing in lab. It is an electronic repository for the results of those tests. This is a global system.

Employees at various sites will be trained using the LIMS training materials. The training materials include systematic procedures to operate the system, User training guide, Instructor Guide, Quick Reference Guides, and other materials to support the training program. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint are used in the development of these materials.

Minimum Education Requirements

Bachelors Degree
Certificate in Instructional Systems Design (preferred)

Technical Skills/Experience
5 years experience in an Instructional Design role.

Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical industry and laboratory operations preferred.

Experience in Instructional Systems Design methodology.

Ability to learn and understand software (technical) applications quickly.

Advanced experience with Microsoft Word (formatting complex documents) required.

Experience with PowerPoint and Excel required.

Note: Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel: version 2002 or above
